I mainly paint with acrylics, but I also use oil paint. Besides painting, I regularly make ink drawings.
My work is inspired by my working environment as a seafarer. Through my paintings, I want to show the isolation, long working hours and loneliness that many people in this field experience. Mostly captured in everyday situation of the daily life on board which are mostly based on my own photographs and observations.
My goal is to give viewers inside into a hidden world that is essential to our everyday live but rarely seen. But I also would like to connect them to their own loneliness and isolation. Therefore I am recently, moving away from a purely documentary approach and simplify the backgrounds to making time and place less defined.
Biography
Hi I am Tim, 37 years from Hamburg.
From profession I am a seafarer but I always liked to draw and paint.
Since 2 years I finally take it more seriously. I take regular art classes and had a small studio in Bahrenfeld.
Now I changed to Kunstpol.
Last December I had a first exhibition with a couple of other artist in Bahrenfeld.
My next exposition is scheduled for Q4 2027 at „Art a the Gate“ in the airport of Hamburg.
