My paintings begin with a feeling rather than an idea. Something unsettles, fascinates of moves me- a person, a book or a personal experience-and painting becomes my way of understanding it.
I work intuitively. A charcoal drawing forms the foundation, followed by an acrylic underpainting and layers of oil paint. While composition and colour evolve during the process, my attention remains on the figure itself. I try to fully inhabit the person I am painting, allowing emotion, gesture and symbolism to emerge naturally.
I am fascinated by what lies beneath appearance. My work is a search for authenticity-for the vulnerability, strength, contradictions and dignity that makes us human. The body has become my language for expressing experiences that are difficult to put into words.
Rather than offering fixed meanings, I hope my paintings create a quiet space where viewers can pause, recognise something of themselves and discover their own connection to the work.
Biography
I am a self-taught painter based in Germany with a professional background in tattooing. While tattooing shaped my understanding of composition, anatomy and craftmanship, painting has gradually become the focus of my artistic practice. Working with charcoal, acrylic underpainting and oil, I create figurative paintings that explore the emotional and psychological dimensions of being human. My practice is driven by observation, intuition and a continuous search for authenticity through the human figure.
