BAAM

I explore moments of imbalance embedded in everyday life and attempt to construct temporary forms of balance through my work. Rather than seeking fixed answers, I am interested in the subtle tensions that exist between opposing elements and the possibilities that emerge from them. My practice moves across different media, each chosen according to the nature of the idea, and printmaking is an important part of this process. What fascinates me about printmaking is its ability to embrace repetition while allowing each impression to retain its own individuality. The medium mirrors my interest in instability, variation, and the coexistence of control and chance. Through these works, I invite viewers to pause, observe the overlooked, and reflect on the fragile equilibrium that quietly shapes everyday life.

Biography

I studied Metal Craft in South Korea before moving to Germany, where I am currently pursuing my Fine Arts studies. My background in craft has fostered a careful way of observing and working, with close attention to materiality, structure, and the subtle details that often shape my installation practice. While my work extends across different media—including printmaking—I choose each medium according to the ideas I want to explore.

In June 2026, I presented a performance centered on the idea of a “third language” as part of my Fine Arts diploma exhibition at HFK Bremen. Alongside my individual practice, I have participated in collaborative exhibitions with fellow artists and have recently become increasingly interested in performance as a space for dialogue and collective experimentation. I am currently preparing for the Meisterschüler program, where I hope to further develop my interdisciplinary practice.
