(Dr)innen – (Dr)außen examines the constructed boundaries between humans and nature—and the mechanisms that enforce these boundaries. I am interested in how demarcation, limitation, and exclusion function: in landscapes, digital spaces, social narratives, and within one’s own body. These are power dynamics that negotiate proximity and control, protection and appropriation, naturalness and performance—always accompanied by contradictions such as double standards and cognitive dissonance.
My work explores naturalness under the pressure to conform. I currently work with pastels and pencil on paper. The precision of the realistic black-and-white depiction is not an end in itself, but a deliberate contrast: an apparent clarity that entices the viewer to look closely—and in doing so reveals fractures, ambivalences, and mechanisms of exclusion.
My practice moves between the external and the internal. I seek out, arrange, and stage motifs in the external world and transform them into a drawing process of internalization. Details coalesce into moments of retreat, in which what has been observed is processed and reinterpreted. The works do not provide answers but rather intensify questions. They invite viewers to situate themselves within these liminal spaces and to question their own role in a system of exclusion.

Biography

As a child, I discovered art as a place of connection: My father was a quiet man and rarely at home, but through his paintings in our house, I got to know him. Early on, art became a space for exchange and self-discovery for me—a way to overcome my introverted nature and find my voice.
After graduating from school with a focus on art (2015), I honed my skills through the “Die neue Räumlichkeit” fellowship with Hamburg-based artist Sybille Kreynhop. I exhibited my realistic and surrealist works in a solo exhibition in 2018. Starting in 2017, I studied communication design at HAW DMI in Hamburg (with a focus on film, animation, and drawing) and expanded my analog practice to include digital media. Through rotoscoping, I learned to artistically combine the visible and the atmospheric—a method I employed in my multisensory installation “Jette, dein Bein liegt noch im Wohnzimmer” (2022, B.A. thesis). The work addresses physical disability and creates immersive spaces of experience that allow for both touch and distance.
Since then, I have exhibited regularly, including as part of Rare Disease Day 2026 (Traunstein) and in Hamburg (AlsterCity, 2025; BuPFT e.V. Annual General Meeting, 2024; Jupiter 2023). My works challenge social norms and invite viewers to explore the boundaries between the body, nature, and systems.
