BAAM

Y. Unan is a multidisciplinary artist from Istanbul, working between automatic drawing, abstraction, and psychological image-making. Her practice explores density, repetition, fragmentation, and fluid motion through intricate line-based compositions that oscillate between bodily forms, organic systems, and imagined architectures. Working primarily on paper, Y.NAN develops immersive visual environments where intuition and control coexist, producing works that feel simultaneously intimate and unstable. Her ongoing series Atomic Convention investigates perception, memory, and emotional residue through layered gestures and evolving symbolic structures. Based in Berlin now, she works between disciplines and mediums.

A fresh citizen in Berlin, she has been contributing to the scene for over 2 decades as a maker, aiming to create healing through connection, empowered by arts, movement, and togetherness. Co-founder, organizer and art director of Istanbul-
Berlin Collective, Sirän (IG: @siraen.says), she had been re-connecting the isolated Istanbul scene with Europe, until she abandoned the ship.
