BAAM

I paint for people. For them to remember or to find themselves in there somewhere. The paintings I hand in here are pantings of people fighting, talking, playing. I am exploring how similar human connection can look like across and beyond cultures. It doesn’t matter who these people are and what they are doing because we are them and they are us.

I know the privilege that I inherited of being able to paint to express myself that way and I am trying to not only focus on myself in my art but on the dynamics in society. Right now I’m staring to work a bit deeper into that. I am super inspired by the artist chiharu shiota and her works. The threats that connect everything and make things visible that only few can see. I like to touch on that in my paintings as well but I am only at the beginning.

Biography

Last exhibition was in my home town on the eastfrisia coast, I painted the old architecture that shaped our village, a lot of people came and told me that their parents or grandparents were super happy to see the architecture of the old factory painted because nearly everyone back then worked there. It was very emotional. I enjoy painting for people who then recognize something or feel something ◡̈

I studied Design at HAW Hamburg but spend 3 years painting in the attic in the painting classes of Henning Kles and Christian Hahn, then I exhibited at the addart and also at an exhibition called „Kunst und Kirche“ where I did 14 paintings and they bought them all which was amazing ◡̈
