BAAM

My artistic practice is centered around painting and explores the relationship between nature, memory, and imagination. I create landscapes that exist between reality and abstraction, combining recognizable elements such as rocks, forests, water, and skies with expressive brushwork, layered textures, and geometric interventions.
Rather than representing specific places, I construct imagined environments that feel remembered, transformed, or dreamlike. My paintings develop through an intuitive process of layering, where colours, forms, and textures gradually build a visual language of their own. I am interested in the tension between calm and disruption, familiarity and uncertainty.
For me, painting is a space of freedom and exploration. Unlike my design practice, which is often guided by purpose and structure, painting allows me to experiment, respond intuitively, and explore emotions that cannot always be expressed through words. My work reflects personal experiences of change, distance, and belonging while leaving space for viewers to connect the landscapes with their own memories and interpretations.

Biography

I am a visual artist from Turkey, currently based in Hamburg. I studied Painting at Anadolu University, where I completed my Bachelor of Fine Arts and later my Master of Fine Arts in Graphic Arts. My artistic background is rooted in painting, while my professional career has developed around graphic and UI design.
Throughout my artistic journey, I have participated in more than 15 group exhibitions and held my first solo exhibition in Ankara, Turkey, in 2015. After relocating to Hamburg in 2022, I returned to my studio practice and began developing a new body of work titled Hiatus. This ongoing project reflects on themes of transition, memory, adaptation, and the emotional experience of starting a new chapter in life. A full artist résumé is available upon request.
