BAAM

A recurring theme in my work is the longing for escape, transcendence, and indifference in the face of the mental and emotional challenges of our time. From the perspective of an almost spiritual observation, I try to capture states of dissociation, overstimulation, the romanticization of suffering, and the desire for intoxication and meaning, translating them into atmospheric imagery. Visually, these ambivalent states are shaped by psychedelic-inspired ornamentation, abstract landscapes, and expressionless figures. Narratives play a secondary role in my practice; instead, the paintings are to be understood as the result of expression and a drive toward self-affirmation.
