I capture the interplay of water and foam on my car windshield with nothing but a smartphone.
Since 2023, I photograph inside an ordinary car wash. As foam flows across the glass, abstract images of extraordinary intensity appear for a few seconds – then the water washes everything away. The image survives only on my phone.
“Liquid”, because nothing stands still. “Moments”, because each composition exists for one fleeting instant. I decide in a split second: capture or let go.
What sets Liquid Moments apart is radical simplicity. No studio, no professional camera, no post-processing. Just a twelve-euro car wash, a smartphone and the willingness to look where nobody else does. The machine creates the composition – not me.
People mistake the results for oil paintings or digital art. The truth: it is foam on glass, inside a machine designed to clean cars. That tension between mundane origin and striking visual result is the essence of this work. No two runs are alike. Each image is a unique collision of physics, chemistry and attention.
This is photography that reveals what hides in plain sight.
