Pauline Gebauer

Through sensorial exploration, my work unfolds in the liminal space where the digital intertwines with the physical. I am drawn to the threshold where the tangible and the virtual blur, where form loses its certainty and presence becomes ambiguous. My practice examines how digital structures translate into material presence and how material reality transforms into digital form, exploring how these translations shape our sense of form and experience.

Pauline Gebauer is a freelance artist and art director based in Berlin. With a background in Communication Design (B.A. and M.A.), her practice spans 3D art, print, graphic design, and spatial work — pursuing what she calls phygital exploration — the intersection of digital and physical experience.
Alongside her artistic practice, Gebauer co-founded neomatter, a 3D type foundry, and holds a teaching position at Hochschule Düsseldorf. She regularly gives talks in the field of design.
Her works have been exhibited at venues including NRW Forum Düsseldorf (2021) and Tage der Kunst (2023).
