Navid Norouzi

Navid Norouzi (b. 1990) is a self-taught abstract painter with German-Iranian roots, based in Berlin. Known for large-scale canvases, his work intricately weaves together abstract forms, colors, and markings to create dynamic, harmonious compositions. Rooted in a deeply personal process of free self-expression, his work invites viewers to pause and reflect. Having participated in several BAAM’s and other exhibitions, Navid continues to evolve his practice, pushing boundaries in his exploration of vibrant abstraction. His method involves layering, rotating, and scraping paint to reveal hidden textures, engaging viewers in a complex, diverse experience.

Working primarily with oil and acrylic, he creates bold, layered compositions defined by dynamic movement and depth. His intuitive, physical process involves applying, rotating, and removing paint to reveal complex textures and underlying structures. His work explores the tension between control and spontaneity.
