My artistic practice explores softness as a radical form of perception.
We encounter images through cultural codes: colour, form and aesthetics are often classified and judged within seconds. My work begins at this moment, seeking to interrupt these automatic readings and create spaces where perception slows down and shifts from pure seeing toward a more physical, sensory experience.
Working directly with my hands on raw cotton, I bring pigment, water and textile into immediate contact. Through a slow process of layering, up to thirty translucent layers are embedded into the fabric, creating depth and a physically tangible surface.
At first glance, my paintings appear soft, quiet and fragile. Yet this softness is intentional: it questions ideas of strength that are often associated with hardness, loudness or control. In this sense, softness becomes a form of silent rebellion – an invitation to reconsider how we perceive.
My paintings are not representations in a traditional sense, but sensory spaces that invite viewers to explore their own perception beyond familiar visual codes.
