BAAM

I paint mainly with acrylic on canvas, but I also like to integrate colored pencils, chalk or markers. My color world is diverse, bright and especially often in shades of green and pink. I am interested in landscapes that often only seem beautiful and untouched at first glance, but on closer inspection reveal something morbid and strange. I like to make the viewer think: something is wrong here. At the moment I deal a lot with the topics of COMING OF AGE and FAMILY in my work. My work often develops over a longer period of time and I put the worlds together layer by layer. Often I deviate from the original idea several times on the way. To test image compositions and effects, I like to use digital sketches in which I try out a lot before starting the original artwork.
In my works on paper, an illustrative style with messages or quotes from pop culture plays a role.

Biography

I am an illustrator and artist from Hamburg. I illustrate postcards, stickers and private portraits and everything that makes life somehow more colorful and more interesting. I studied illustration design at HAW Hamburg and graduated there in 2010. After various other topics, my focus at the moment is on painting. It is my third participation at HAAM.
