My photographic work explores the fleeting interplay of water, movement, light and form. The waves of the Elbe River are the central starting point of my work, but they are not intended as documentary subjects. Through reduction and abstraction, they become constantly changing visual structures that exist somewhere between the recognizable and the imagined.
I work intuitively with the movement of the water and changing light conditions, using long exposures and intentional camera movements to determine the moment and manner of capture. This process transforms fleeting, unrepeatable movements into lasting photographic traces. Control and chance become equally important elements, allowing forms to emerge that extend beyond the physical reality of the scene.
In post-production, I consciously emphasize colors and visual relationships already present in the photograph, enhancing the sensory and atmospheric qualities of each work without creating an artificial scene.
For me, photography becomes a way of translating a moment that cannot be repeated into an independent visual form — somewhere between observation, abstraction and imagination.
Biography
I am a self-taught artist and photographer from Hamburg. I have been working with photography since my youth, with my artistic practice centered around movement, transience and the space between reality and abstraction.
Water has become a central element of my work. Rather than documenting water, I use photography to capture fleeting waves, reflections and forms, transforming an unrepeatable moment into an independent visual composition.
My work has been published in Falling Fig Magazine (2025) and TOSEE art Magazine (2026). In 2026, my photograph “Burning” was selected as a finalist in the TOSEE Art Competition “Ocean of Possibilities”. My work has also been exhibited internationally as part of the TOSEE × Bohemia Digital Exhibition in Gran Canaria and is being shown at GlowArt Gallery in Hamburg. Selected works are available through NewArt.Gallery and Kunst-Direkt.de.
