In my figurative mixed media paintings I combine contrasts such as loud and quiet, colorful and muted, yesterday and today.
I draw inspiration from personal and (supposedly) collective childhood memories and experiences. The motif of water plays a recurring role in my work.
In stark contrast to their melancholic expression, my works simultaneously testify to my deep joy in color as an essential element of my visual expression.
My works invite the viewer to enter into a dialogue with the image using their own memories, emotions, and interpretations. This creates an exciting space between the unfamiliar and the familiar, the quiet and the loud, the past and the present.
