“My body is not a temple; it is a vessel.” This idea resonates throughout my work, where the vessel serves as a physical and metaphorical origin. Through working with clay, I explore the tension between containment and release, and between structure and fracture. The historically functional vessel is transformed into a symbolic body that holds emotion, memory and transformation, rather than matter alone.
Clay resists control; it moves, cracks, and bears the marks of time. Through the processes of building, breaking and reassembling, traces of vulnerability and resilience remain visible. Glaze acts as a counterpart, simultaneously concealing and revealing, thus solidifying the dialogue between chance and intention.
My objects oscillate between form and fragment, body and shell, rupture and wholeness. They challenge the concept of the vessel as merely a container, instead presenting it as a reflection of existence — a permeable boundary between inner and outer worlds.
