After completing her photography studies in Milan, Gaia V. Marturano initially works as a photojournalist before moving to Berlin in 2010. There, she develops her artistic persona Klara Bezug.
Starting with collages and photomontages, her work gradually shifts over time toward screen printing, which now forms the main focus of her artistic practice. In terms of content, she is particularly concerned with themes such as memory and nostalgia.
Her growing engagement with social and political issues lends her work a political character. She is part of the artist duo Güteklasse A.
