BAAM

In recent years, my practice has gradually evolved from photography and collage toward screen printing, which now forms the core of my artistic work. Drawing inspiration from vintage photographs, postcards, and found imagery, I explore themes of memory, nostalgia, and longing. Through my work, I seek to create images that evoke a sense of nostalgia and Sehnsucht—a deep yearning for something distant, lost, or imagined.
At the same time, my growing engagement with social and political issues has increasingly informed my artistic practice. While memory remains a recurring theme, many of my recent series address the language and imagery of contemporary conflicts, focusing on war rhetoric, media framing, and the mechanisms through which public narratives are constructed and disseminated.

Biography

After completing my photography studies in Milan, I worked as a photojournalist for press agencies before relocating to Berlin in 2010, where my focus shifted toward more artistic work and my artistic persona “Klara Bezug” came to life.
Over the past 15 years, I have developed and exhibited numerous projects, both as a photographer and as an artist.
Beginning with collages and photomontages, and later expanding intoscreen printing, I have approached themes of memory and nostalgia.
In recent years, growing concern over political and social issues has led me to adopt a more overtly political approach in my artistic practice.
My latest projects were exhibited in Berlin at “Supalife Kiosk” (March 2026) and in Paris at “Friches et nous la paix” (June 2026).
