I work mainly in watercolor, as well as in relief printing.
I’m interested in the quiet, intimate moments of everyday life, the kind that often goes unnoticed but gradually shapes the way we experience a place. I’m drawn to ordinary streets, buildings, and corners that reveal their character through changing light, weather, and atmosphere.
This series is a collection of small watercolor paintings made in Hamburg and other cities in Germany. They depict familiar places that people usually walk past without a second thought, yet these everyday scenes hold a subtle beauty that becomes visible when we take the time to look carefully.
Watercolor suits this subject perfectly. Its fluid and unpredictable nature responds to every brushstroke and allows light and atmosphere to emerge naturally rather than being fully controlled. The small format of the paintings is intentional because it creates a sense of intimacy and encourages the viewer to slow down, look more closely, and discover beauty in the ordinary.
