BAAM

My work merges photography, digital editing, painting, and artificial intelligence into a single image — the camera is only the starting point, not the end. Even where a piece begins as a photograph, it is reworked by hand and digitally until it is closer to a painted surface than a captured moment.

I am drawn to portraiture as a way to explore identity and transformation: how a face changes once make-up, styling, and re-painting are layered onto it, and what that shift reveals about self-perception. Several of my series, including my ongoing Lipstick Studies, sit between fashion, pop culture, and fine art — using color, theatrical styling, and strong protagonists to explore femininity, power, and how we choose to be seen.

My background as a hairdresser and make-up artist runs directly through this work: styling is not preparation for the image, it is part of the image itself, as much a material as paint or pixels.

Biography

I am a Berlin-based photographer and visual artist known for a distinct, recognizable style — the result of controlling every stage of the image myself: hair, make-up, styling, photography, and retouching, all done by one hand.

I started my creative career as a trained hairdresser and make-up artist with backstage and live-event experience, later teaching myself photography. This background still shapes my work today, sitting between fashion photography and fine art.

I have worked extensively with musicians (soloists, ensembles, orchestras), actors, agencies, and companies, alongside an ongoing fine art practice.
