BAAM

Jana Jacob is a painter based in Berlin whose oil paintings explore intimate, often private moments of human existence. Her works oscillate between self-representation, latent exhibitionism, and voyeurism, exploring the tension between vulnerability and the urge for visibility. In her new series She Wore Blue Velvet, Jana Jacob focuses on the “blue counterpart”—an object that appears in changing forms: as sensual velvet, a curtain, an air mattress, or an oversized banana. This object of desire plays with deep longings for closeness and security.
