My work across ceramics, video and installation investigates the conditions under which things become what they are — and who holds the authority to decide. The glaze paintings apply this question to the act of making itself. Each firing produces results that can be anticipated but never duplicated, because identical conditions never produce identical outcomes. The kiln is not a tool but a collaborator: it takes my decisions and finishes them on its own terms.
