BAAM

Frauke Sophie Fischer

Landscapes and animals have always fascinated me, and nature conservation and animal welfare have always been important to me. That’s why I paint abstract landscapes and still lifes in which the theme of climate change plays a role and nature
is slowly reclaiming its space, bit by bit.
How does a painting like this come to be? First, in my mind. I research the chosen
topic, create a digital sketch, and experiment with different colors and compositions.
It’s important to me to convey through my work just how vital nature is to us humans—how much peace, relaxation, and grounding it gives us. It’s important to protect it.

I mainly paint with oil and acrylic on canvas, but I also use mixed-media techniques.

Biography

I am Frauke Sophie Fischer, born in Wolfenbüttel, but moved to the north of Germany two years later. I am a northern light through and through. But now I am living in the Südheide where I also have my art studio.
Originally I studied fashion design and worked as a costume designer for a long time. I have always painted on the side, even as a child there was nothing more important. Now I paint and illustrate professionally.
In my work I explore nature, the climate change and their effects. I have always been fascinated by nature and animals, and nature and animal protection have always been important to me. I love to paint still lives but also abstract landscapes.
