Eike-Marie Eiting

Eike-Marie paints abstract art, drawing inspiration from nature and the Ayurvedic principles of movement, structure, and transformation. Her practice moves between structure and spontaneity: a piece often begins with woodblock printing, laying down its architecture, then finds its depth through layers of acrylic, oil pastel, or watercolor, each pass adding weight, texture, or interruption. She’s drawn to the friction that emerges where these techniques meet, the moment a heavy print collides with an unpredictable wash or a sketched colorful line.

Underlying her work is a broader lens: For her, art is an interaction with space and as such it is no different than life itself. Techniques overlap, create friction and harmony, always a play between curiosity and possibility. Art is also expression of an inner state: feeling and intuition combine with structure, technique, and movement to create something new.

Biography

Eike-Marie has worked as a freelance artist alongside her other professional pursuits, with exhibitions at the Bedürfnisanstalt and Altonale Kunstherbst. Art has accompanied her for most of her life. She started drawing early, expanded to oils and sold individual works through family networks. As a student, she worked in galleries at Leipzig’s Tapetenwerk and Baumwollspinnerei capturing how art is professionally sold. In 2023 she started creating with exhibitions of her own.
