I use visual art to metabolize scenes through my perceptions and memories. A constant movement and change in my life urged me to explore the perception of identity in the space where time, culture, and evolution could co-exist. The resulting scenes are reflections of perceptions and explorations of observation, creating tension that is expected in the state where appreciation is often delineated by distance in space and time.
My previous background in engineering cultivated a technical approach in analyzing emotions as a layered construct. I start working from photographs I took to build a scene or composition. Driven by the scrutiny of emotions arising from my presence within it, I intuitively deconstruct, patch, and add visual layers. The resulting work shows how I perceive these images, serving a disruptive layer over a more realistic foundation. This whole process now informs how I reconstruct scenes through memory, allowing me to approach my work as both intuitive and methodical.
