By using one of photography’s earliest printing processes, I create a dialogue between historical technique and contemporary concerns. The handmade nature of each print —coated, exposed, and developed individually— introduces chance and material nuance into the image. My art is the result of the constant research of stability, durability and unicity, as well as the rejection of inmediacy and obsolescence. Every work of mine is unique, as the technique used do not allow identical reproductions, and by the nature of the nobel materials in use, every artwork is also extremely archival. The overlayed layers of paint and gold and silver, add a connecting layer, that enclose, expose and frame the elements captured.
Biography
I’m an image creator born in Peru and raised in Italy, with a focus on photography, alternative printing and image gilding. I evolved alongside my art in a path started with graphite, charcoal and paper, through canvas an acrylic paint, to the fine art platinum-palladium printing and gilding. My art is the result of the constant research of stability, durability and unicity, as well as the rejection of inmediacy and obsolescence.
