BAAM

Bente Singelmann

The paintings I paint are an invitation to look closer to ones own responsibility on this earth. My art longs for a better state in the world and is mostly driven by the belief we all as human kind are part of nature and each of us is creating a small part of the world. Wether it is for the better or the worse. Nature and the future for human kind is found in most of the paintings, while also motherhood and personal experiences are part of the art.

I paint with gouache on oversized paper with bold brushstrokes and colorful imperfect textures to keep it reel and accessible. While some older paintings are painted on canvas with oil and acrylic paint I switched to a more impermanent color. Gouache is most known in smaller paintings, while my approach to it to use in on huge selfcut paper is unknown to most of the audience and is often approached with curiosity.

My art is painted in a naive almost childlike way.
