I like to look at my work as poetry where you can find hidden stories between the lines.
I use other people, models, to translate the abstract stories I have in my mind.
The paintings are loaded with hidden symbolism, only known to me, but for you to find your own meaning.
The technique I use is figurative painting, where I paint from photos taken by me of models or stuff that sorround me and represent emotions, relations, experiences that cannot be put to words without sounding like a mess. This is the reason why I started drawing and painting as 21 years old, I found out I could make people believe the stories I collected by watching the life I passed by, because by seeing it through my eyes they would no longer brush it off as nonsense. Over the years I have and still am finetuning this ability to deliver my stories by my hands.
I paint in acrylic and oil on canvas, my paperworks are done as cyanotypes but undergo many different treatments before they are done. Not to look like cyanotypes in the end.
When I paint I am in control from beginning to end, when I do cyanotype I let process and chance decide where the story goes.
I could offer a cyanotype workshop at the fair!!
Biography
My artcarreer started about 34 years ago when i lived and worked in Hamburg, one day I stepped into an exhibition of 2000 works by Horst Janssen in Deichtorhallen. My Path changed that day. 6 months later I joined Freie Kunstschule in Altona, after 3 months I moved back to Denmark to give birth to my oldest child. But I didn´t stop making art, and I havn´t stoppet ever since. I am trained as an old school printer/graphic artist. but started painting 20 years ago because it had to be my fulltime job or nothing. Since 2020 I have returned to working on paper, doing experimental photography through cyanotype.
