Martin Kiman’s practice revolves around exploring, learning and developing the possibilities of various visual languages across multiple disciplines and creative means. His work examines the relationship between the unrestrained mind and physical reality, discarding from his work visual cues that pertain to tangible world focusing instead on contrasts, rhythms, tensions and consonances.
Martin Kiman (b. 1985, Košice, Slovakia) studied at the Faculty of Arts, where he received his BA in Fine Arts in 2012. He subsequently completed his MFA in Contemporary Painting at the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Bratislava in 2015. He is a multidisciplinary artist whose practice spans painting, video, sound art, and site-specific installation.
