I’ve long collected vintage photos of unknown souls, rescuing them from cellars and flea markets, destined for decay. As a reflection of my own disconnection with my upbringings, I intervene and bring them to the walls of those who will honor them, unaware of their true identities. My love for threads traces back to my grandmother Valentina, whose delicate bobbin lace creations inspired me as I studied beside her as a child. The embroidery series “Tears and Lashes” merges these passions, breathing new color and life into these anonymous figures, and preserving their presence within a vibrant mosaic of memory.
